NATIONAL SAILING ACADEMY RECEIVES EC$6,000 DONATION
Tuesday 13th January 2026
The National Sailing Academy is thrilled to announce that it has received a generous donation of EC$6,000 from Falmouth Harbour Marina, specifically designated for a term of sailing lessons for a participating school in our schools program. This support is instrumental in the mission to teach children the essential skills of sailing, inspiring them to embrace this sport as a lifelong passion or potential career.
With over 300 students from various schools across the island attending weekly sailing sessions, the program has significantly enhanced access to sailing education, including services for the differently-abled community of Antigua. General Manager Alison Sly-Adams expressed her gratitude, stating, “We are extremely happy to receive this funding. We have a continuous need for resources that allow us to operate safely and comply with the required instructor-to-student ratios while delivering high-quality training tailored to individual sailors.”
The donation from Falmouth Harbour Marina, represented by Chief Executive Officer Mr. Robert Reis, highlights the importance and impact of the program. “We are absolutely delighted to support this initiative, as it provides our youth with a gateway to an extremely lucrative career in yachting,” said Mr. Reis. “By removing barriers to entry in learning to sail, we empower students to potentially command higher salaries than the average employee on the island.
This program is worthwhile, whether participants engage for a term, a full year, or a lifetime, as it offers invaluable insights into sailing and the numerous opportunities available.”
The National Sailing Academy remains committed to providing exceptional sailing education and experiences. We invite corporate sponsors interested in contributing to our school sponsorship program to contact the school at info@nationalsailingacademy.org or by calling 562-8060.
Thank you to Falmouth Harbour Marina for its generous support and to everyone involved in making sailing accessible to our youth.
