ANTIGUA LASER OPEN 2015 RESULTS Tuesday 31st March 2015
The 14th Antigua Laser Open sponsored by Club Sushi took place this weekend, 28-29th March 2015. The conditions were windy and great for the event and the competition was tough. Shawn Malone, the Champion from last year, successfully defended his title and won the Championship again. Following fierce competition, in 2nd place was Luke Deegan from New Zealand and in 3rd place Tim Goodbody from Ireland. The best junior sailor was Lewis Fitzgerald who came 4th. This is probably his last time to get the Junior prize as he will turn 18 this week. Happy Birthday Lewis. Vincent Anfi, the youngest sailor in the fleet, came 7th. There were 18 entries in all with quite a few foreign entrants including Martin Chadder, Sam Chadder and Mathew Satchewell from the UK. The competition was so close that the 5th to 10th place were all one point apart. All in all, it was an exciting regatta all round until next year.
