ANTIGUAN YOUTH RHONE KIRBY IN YOUTH OLYMPICS Wednesday 27th August 2014
Representing Antigua and Antigua Yacht Club, youth sailor Rhone Kirby, earned himself a spot in the 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing China sailing on a Byte CII. The Olympics were held from August 16 through August 28 and Rhone and coach Karl James will be returning to Antigua on the coming weekend. Once back in Antigua we will get the full story about this incredible experience from Rhone and Karl.
In the meantime, we want to share with you Rhone's fantastic results in the event. With very limited experience on the Byte CII as well as at international competitions, Rhone finished a very respectable 24th out of 30 sailors. His best finish was a 7th place and he also had a 9th place finish. Absolutely fantastic!
Congratulations to Rhone and we look forward to reporting the full story in the coming days. In the meantime, full results of Rhone's fleet can be found here. Full results of the sailing events can be found here.
