AYC ROUND THE ISLAND RACE THIS SATURDAY Tuesday 14th January 2014
Antigua Yacht Club will hold its annual Round the Island Race this Saturday, January 18. The skippers' briefing will take place at Club Sushi at Antigua Yacht Club at 6 pm on Friday, January 17, with a fundraiser for PAAWS to follow on the Yacht Club lawn immediately afterwards.
The first boats will start inside Falmouth Harbour at 8 am with subsequent starts at 9 and 9:30 am for faster boats. The course is anti-clockwise around the island ith the finish line being the same as the starting line. All boats are welcome to participate. Enter in advance or at the skippers' briefing on Friday evening.
There will be trophies awarded to the first place finisher in each class and the overall winner will be awarded the 'skipper's weight in rum'! There will also be a special trophy for a winning boat that beats the existing time record.
