The 11th Annual Antigua Laser Open championships took place in perfect conditions over the weekend of March 10 and 11, 2012.
Thirteen excellent Laser sailors competed – many from all corners of the world competing with Antigua’s local sailors including several young sailors trained through Antigua’s National Sailing Academy.

The competition was fierce in the seven races held over two days, with only two points dividing the first and second place finishers overall. Each of the top six sailors finished in second place or better in at least one of the races. Competition was particularly close between Antigua’s former Olympic sailor, Karl James, and Irish Olympian Tim Goodbody with Karl winning three races and Tim winning two.
All competitors, whether senior or junior, enjoyed some good close sailing with the whole fleet only minutes apart at all times.
The winners (L to R): 2nd place Tim Goodbody, 1st place Karl James, 3rd place Alan Hart.

The results were as follows: 1st Karl James; 2nd Tim Goodbody; 3rd Alan Hart; 1st Junior Hosea Williams.
