AYC’S ANNUAL GREEN ISLAND WEEKEND Monday 30th May 2011
The Antigua Yacht Club Annual Green Island weekend took place on Saturday 21st & Sunday 22nd May.
After a very wet morning on Saturday, the weather cleared by lunch time and by the time most of the boats arrived at Green Island it was fine and dry. A smaller fleet than usual took part this year but there were enough people to make a very enjoyable party in the evening.
We set up on the beach with tents, generator, lights and music and provided BBQ grills for people to cook their food. These were supplemented by copious amounts of Rum Punch provide by Antigua Yacht Club, which was of course enjoyed by all.
On Sunday morning several of the boats joined us on the beach for a full English Breakfast. The weather was glorious and most people departed by lunchtime for the sail home in light airs.
