BOXING DAY BARREL 2024 REPORT & RACE RESULTS

The Boxing Day Barrel Race at the Antigua Yacht Club delivered yet another exciting competition, filled with skilled sailors, thrilling finishes, and unforgettable moments. Below are the detailed results for Class A - Racing and Class B - Cruising/Racing 1 (C/R 1) categories, along with the highlights from the day.

Highlights:

  • DANISH BLUE stole the show with its precision sailing and remarkable 2.00% margin win, finishing first with a corrected time of 110.42 minutes.
  • FREYA followed closely behind, showing great performance despite the challenging conditions.
  • Unfortunately, THE BLUE PETER did not finish, while CACCIA ALLA VOLPE and REBEL did not start the race.

Highlights:

  • GYPSY, led by Josh Bailey and Bob Green, claimed first place with an impressive corrected time of 93.43 minutes and a margin of 4.90%. This remarkable performance secured the Boxing Day Barrel Race trophy for the crew.
  • CRICKET and HUEY TOO fought hard for second and third places, both showcasing excellent skills and determination.
  • BROWN SKIN GIRL and PETRANA rounded out the field, completing the race with commendable efforts despite tough competition.
  • Unfortunately, several boats, including ENCORE, SEEYA, HIGHTIDE, and BUNGLEBIRD, did not start the race

The Antigua Yacht Club congratulates Josh Bailey, Bob Green, and the crew of SY GYPSY for their outstanding victory in Class B, as well as the crew of DANISH BLUE for dominating Class A!
