10TH ANNUAL ANTIGUA LASER OPEN COMING IN MARCH

Every year around this time, the Antigua Yacht Club starts planning for its Annual Laser Open Regatta.  Everyone is welcome to participate and for those without there own Lasers or access elsewhere, Antigua Yacht Club makes them available at no charge to members and at a reasonable price to non-members.  Everyone is asked to bring their own sail and equipment if they have it available.

This is a fun event and everyone is welcome, so take a couple of days off that mega yacht and get closer to the water and have some fun!

NOTICE OF RACE

10TH   ANNUAL ANTIGUA LASER OPEN
SATURDAY 12TH & SUNDAY 13TH  MARCH, 2011

 The Antigua Yacht Club is hosting the tenth Annual Antigua Laser Open.

RULES: Racing will be governed by the 2009-2012 ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing, the Laser Class Rules, the prescription of the race committee, and by the sailing instructions. Sailing Instructions will be available at registration on Friday 11th March, 2011.

ENTRY FORMS & FEE: Please fax or e-mail entry forms by 10th March, 2011.  The entry fee is US$60.00/EC$162.00 per person and payable by cheque, cash or credit card by Thursday 10th March, 2011.  Cheques should be made payable to the Antigua Yacht Club.  Entry forms are available at the Antigua Yacht Club’s office, from the Sailing Instructors or on the club website at www.antiguayachtclub.com

EQUIPMENT:  The racing will be sailed in standard Lasers.  There will be a limited number of lasers available for charter by non-member on a first come first serve basis at US$85.00 and a US$100.00 damage deposit refundable at the end of the regatta.  Non-members are asked to bring with them their equipment package consisting of sail, battens, centerboard, rudder, tiller w/extension and a full set of lines. 

COURSE & NO. OF RACES: The course will be sailed in Falmouth Harbour and will be an Olympic Triangle or Windward/Leeward.  The course will be given in the sailing instructions.  The number of races to be sailed will be 7 with one discard.

PRIZES & SCORING:  Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.  Scoring will be in accordance with Appendix A.
