BUDGET MARINE JOLYON BYERLEY CHRISTMAS SERIES
The winning team of the major class in the Budget Marine Jolyon Byerley Christmas Series (Formerly Hightide series) was the team led by Bernie Evans Wong on the Cal 40 Huey Too.
The event was held over two days from Falmouth Antigua by the Antigua Yacht Club and supported by long term sponsor Budget Marine. Huey Too was the only boat to come from Jolly Harbour, the other sailing center in Antigua. Second place went to Caccia Alla Volpe helmed by Carlo Falcone and third place to Geoffrey Pidduck on High Tide. A second race class consisting of three RS Elites was won by Da Boom helmed by Paul Deeth. Conditions were highly variable and included some squalls that could be described as “exciting”. A highly positive awards ceremony at the Antigua Yacht club after the racing was led by new fleet Captain Tommy Patterson and also addressed by the new commodore of the club Richard Archer. Jolyon Byerley was a previous commodore who stood out for being able to motivate persons in respect of participating in local racing.
