ANTIGUA YACHT CLUB

The North American Optimist Championships will be in Antigua in July; in the meantime Antigua’s intrepid sailors are giving their all in Spain at the World Championships. 

Patrick Greensmith, Henry Greensmith, Imani John-Polanco, Carrack Jones and Tyden Jones, with Coach Rhone Kirby and Team Leader Tanner Jones set off from the AYC last week to represent Antigua on the coast of Costa Brava.

The team faces very different conditions to Antigua; although the swells are likely to be less than found in the Atlantic outside Falmouth Harbour, they will face variable winds and waves and differing local conditions. With nearly 250 boats racing, it will be a tough week.
