ABOUT ANTIGUA OPERA SOCIETY Monday 18th March 2019
The Antigua Opera Society was founded by Marcel and Aneta Polk of Mamora Bay, both serious Opera fans, as a non-profit charity with the mission of contributing funds to Antigua music organisations and students to encourage the study of music, both vocal and instrumental. The charity is registered in Antigua and a large proportion of the profit from the 2018 season is being donated to the Halo Foundation in Antigua.
The Opera stars also visit schools, and last year visited Bolans School for a personal singing and one-to-one talk to the students studying music and drama at the school. This year the plan is that they will visit two schools, both of which will invite three or more local schools in their area to the event.
Some eight schools will be involved in total and hopefully around 300 children.
The four executives of the Antigua Opera Society work with no benefit or salary, and donate their time to bringing these productions to Antigua, and they hope you can support the society and enjoy these three performances for the 2019 season.
