Dear Members and Fellow Opera Lovers,
Hello again and welcome to the latest update with news of our new Tenor. Before that I know what you have really been looking forward to are the housekeeping updates! I simply cannot keep you waiting any longer...
There is something that has come to our attention and seems to be causing a flutter. We all know that Clarence House is a very special place. It has been said that there are few occasions in the social calendar where everyone can dress up. ‘Black Tie - Island Style’ was just a suggestion and of course for both ladies and gentlemen, your attire is entirely your choice.
Tickets are flying off the shelves and there is only one week until the first performance at the Sailing Academy. We had to turn away people last year so please contact the Academy, Premier Beverages or the Blue Waters Hotel to get your tickets soon for any location.
The AOS is on Antigua Nice and Facebook and if you have moment and would care to ‘like’ us and share the post we would be delighted. Thank you.
The Director had his first night for his new production of “Rigoletto” in Milano last night to a packed audience. All the stars and the Director arrive on Friday. We hope that you will support them.
And now for news on the amazing Davide...
The immensely talented Tenor, Davide Tuscano will sing for the Antigua Opera Society
Davide Tuscano began his singing studies in 2011 at the Francesco Cilea Music Conservatory in Reggio Calabria, Italy. After winning the Young Talent Prize at the International Etta Limiti Opera competition 2013, Davide moved to Genoa where he graduated from the Pagnini Conservatory of Music.
Alongside his opera training, Davide attended professional theatrical workshops by the Spazio Musica Association in Orvieto making his debuts as Ruiz in Verdi’s “Il Trovatore”, Goro the matchmaker in “Madame Butterfly” and in 2016 in the principle role of Rodolfo from “La Boheme” by Puccini.
Davide has appeared in a wide variety of opera styles from the Cinderella fairytale “Cenerentola” by Rossini, to the sentimental comedy, “Nina” by Paisiello, also known as “The Girl Driven Mad by Love” and the playful drama, Mozart’s “Cosi Fan Tutti”. In Milan this year, Davide debuted as the Duke of Mantua from Verdi’s “Rigoletto” in a production directed by Gianmaria Aliverta, in association with the Voce all’opera.
Under the tutelage and guidance of soprano, Sonia Corsini, Davide continues his studies in opera at the renown Giambattista Martini Conservatory of Music in Bologna, Italy.
