The Ministry Of Agriculture, Lands, Housing & the Environment on Sunday, successfully staged, its seafood Fiesta at the Urlings Fisheries Complex.
It was a day filled with fun for the entire family. Some of the activities were boat rides, fishing competition, fish pot making. The children were entertained with boat castle, while adults enjoyed the entrainment from the hi-5, Lyrics man and five of Jr. Calypso finalists.
The grounds were littered with tasty seafood.
Participants came from all walks of life, many health-conscious as well as the growing number of villagers were very happy with the seafood dishes and showed their appreciation by returning for seconds, thirds and fourths.
Hard to believe each of the vendors who cooked had come with enough to feed 200 persons; the food just disappeared. But they did, feed the swelling crowd.
Minister of Agriculture, Lands, Housing & the Environment Hilson Baptiste said, the event has surpassed expectations.
" We are hoping for Urlings to become mega for seafood. We are hoping to begin planning for the next seafood fiesta and this one will be bigger and better."
The minister noted that plans for the next staging would be in stages. Monthly, then bi-monthly , then bi-weekly, then weekly.
