KIWANIS CLUB OF WADADLI

St. John’s May 25, 2017 — Residents in Barbuda will benefit from the Kiwanis Club of St. John’s Antigua with its donation of bed linens, towels and a refrigerator to store medicine to the Hannah Thomas Hospital.

Active in Antigua and Barbuda for nineteen plus years, the items supplied were through a combined effort of corporate support and funds raised by the club.
 
“Our ongoing contribution to the Hannah Thomas Hospital is an example of how our club can meet a need in our community,” said Moya Lambert, President. We were approached by the Matron of the hospital with an extensive wishlist and we are committed to fulfilling the need identified in keeping with our commitment to invest in our community.

Community Service Chairperson, Natasha Watts said the Kiwanis Club of St. John’s Antigua supports several local projects to benefit the community, including feeding program at four (4) secondary schools that targets vulnerable youth, financial support to assist children who need to travel for medical care, workshop designed to equip parents/guardians with tools to encourage toddlers to enjoy reading at an early age and a dental care program targeting 4 and 5 year olds.. Partners include Anjo Wholesale, Cool & Smooth, Barbuda Express, JJ Dezigns and Hermitage Hotel.

“We are delighted with the continued support from the Kiwans Club of St. John’s Antigua.  The refrigerator will assist to extend the life of the medical supplies at the hospital and the bed linen and towels will improve our quality of service to our patients.” said Matron of the Hannah Thomas Hospital.

Annually, the Kiwanis Club of St. John’s, Antigua hosts several fundraisers including High Tea, Patriots Breakfast, Cake Sales among other events all to raise money to support projects that benefit children.
