WORLD’S TOUGHEST ROW 2025 Friday 20th June 2025

As the Pacific pre-race period gets underway, the global spotlight is already shifting toward the Atlantic. On December 12, 2025, an extraordinary fleet of ocean rowers will depart from La Gomera in the Canary Islands, embarking on the World’s Toughest Row – Atlantic, a 3,000-mile journey that will end in the historic harbor of Nelson’s Dockyard, Antigua.
This year’s lineup features over 116 rowers across 40 teams from 16 countries, united by a common mission: to row the Atlantic and raise awareness and funds for causes close to their hearts, which include:
-
The Old See Dogs (UK), led by 67-year-old Alan Fortuin, are rowing to support Guide Dogs for the Blind, inspired by his visually impaired grandmother.
-
Just One More Row (Scotland) features soloist Milli Abrams, who transitions from a career in finance to rowing solo across the Atlantic, raising funds for CHAS and The 2-Minute Foundation.
-
Call to Earth (UK), with crew members Stacey Rivers and Jonno Hammond, are rowing for ocean health charities, including The Ocean Cleanup and Blue Marine Foundation.
-
Stronger Twogether, a family team from the UK, are rowing in support of LOROS Hospice Care.
-
Row Aurora will be raising money for Big Purple Pants and Phoenix Heroes, embodying endurance and empathy with every stroke.
From teams representing Belgium, Malta, Syria, Switzerland, and the Caribbean, to crews made up of veterans, nurses, and students, every participant brings a unique story to the sea.
In recent years, Antigua has not only welcomed hundreds of rowers, it has embraced their stories—elevating the race beyond adventure into cultural and charitable significance. With live tracking, community events, and volunteer support, locals and visitors alike gather to welcome crews as they row their final strokes home.
