FINAL ROWER ARRIVES IN ANTIGUA
Tuesday 4th April 2023

“ We counted them all out and we counted them all back.” 43 boats set off from La Gomera on December 12th 2022 and on April 4th at 12.45 Linda Emilsen in Ocean’s Calling set foot on terraferma in Nelson’s Dockyard after 113 days, six hours and 21 minutes. Exhausted but triumphant after one of the longest rows in the history of the challenge. Linda refused extra food and aid and fought through the fatigue. What a feat!

Finishing in 31 days 17 hours and nine minutes, Ocean Cats was the overall winner of the 2022 challenge with This Way Up! coming in closely behind in what is described as the world’s toughest row.

Set to be one of the youngest teams to compete, Dadli Trio from Antigua, Robin Reitz, Daniel Reitz, & Nicholas Fuller, will be heading that way in the 2023 challenge. Antigua and Barbuda have been well represented in the Talisker Whisky Challenge; Team Wadadli, Team Antigua, The Island Girls, Team Antigua Pairs have set the bar high, the Dadli Trio will keep it there!
