Captain Nick Line has over 30 years of experience in the yachting industry and started out as a shore based marine engineer and moved onto yacht repair manager for a number of yards in the UK, Spain and Gibraltar. The last 15 years Nick has worked as the captain of five large motor yachts, four of them busy charter yachts. He also manages two yachts M/Y Va Bene and M/Y Sequel P, and supervised the full design, build, launch and running of Sequel P.
Nick and his wife Sian, first came to Antigua in 1987 when Nick was running the engineering workshops at Antigua Slipway. They then lived and worked in Spain for 16 years, often coming back to Antigua on one yacht or another, and in 2004 bought some land overlooking Falmouth harbour and built a home, and moved back to Antigua.
The insight Nick has gained from his time as a yacht captain chartering in the Caribbean and the rest of the world, and from living full time in Antigua qualifies him to fully understand the frustrations that many yacht captains, owners and crews encounter when operating in the Caribbean, and therefore be able to be able to assist them in their needs whilst visiting Antigua.
The Line family is very much a yachting family. Sian and Nick have four adult children all of whom are, or have worked, in the yachting industry, in pretty much all the roles onboard large yachts. They therefore fully understand what living and working on yachts is about and how important good, friendly and personal service is valued when arriving in port and that there is someone to help take the load off.
Nick holds a MCA 3,000 GRT Masters license and a variety of engineering qualifications including product training with several marine engine manufacturers and is a keen sailor (although the pressure of work has not allowed for much sailing in the last couple of years). The broad knowledge that Nick possesses of both motor yachts and sail yachts, engineering, bridge, deck and interiors, means that he is well versed in solving problems and finding the right parts or person you need to sort it out fast.
