Barbudan hospitality at its best was on display this week as the island played hosted to a number of visiting professional triathletes on island for Tinman Rohr Aquathlon & 10k Swim set for Saturday.

International and Olympic stars Stephane Poulat, Greta Horvath and Benjamin Sanson were joined by four other visiting athletes on a two day visit to the sister isle on Tuesday and Wednesday this week.

Arthur ‘Speedy’ Walter and Rosalind Walter, owners of the It’s A Bit Fishy bar and restaurant, prepared a special steak and lobster barbeque on the athletes arrival.
 

Following some fine dining, the athletes then hooked up with Barbuda’s head coach Peter Cuffy and some of the islands best athletes for a fun training session on the famed Princess Diana Beach.

On Wednesday Speedy ferried the athletes on his boat to the famed 14 mile Low Bay beach for a quick swimming training session.
 

The unique experience was filmed by the New Media unit who will be preparing a video package to help promote sports tourism in the sister isle.
 

The experience was made possible by the support of It’s A Bit Fishy, the Barbuda Express and the Barbuda Tourism Board.
 

The Tinman Rohr Aquathlon & 10k Swim is slated for Saturday 9th March at Turners Beach at 1:00pm.
