WARRIORS MISSED PENALTY IN SECOND LOSS OF THE SEASON Tuesday 18th October 2011
INET Young Warriors contributed to their 2-0 defeat at the hands of Real Blizzard in the ABFA Second Division on Monday.
Warriors squandered a first-half penalty when they were 1-0 down and conceded a second goal after the interval to suffer their second reversal of the campaign at the New Winthropes field.
Real Blizzard took the lead through Jermaine Otto who headed home from a corner after 10 minutes.
After that, Warriors rallied and were awarded a penalty when Akeem Buntin was brought down inside in the area. However, Buntin hit the spot-kick over the bar midway through the first half.
The game ebbed and flowed with Blizzard creating the better of the chances while Warriors’ passed the ball better as they enjoyed more possession without hurting the home team.
Blizzard clinched the three points when Chad Hampson headed home a free-kick.
Warriors take on Shot Gun in their next match on October 22 at Johnson’s.
The game started with two officials as one of the assistant referees arrived 20 minutes after kick-off.
