PENDENNIS SHIPYARD CANCELS FALMOUTH TO FALMOUTH RACE Wednesday 28th March 2012
It is with regret that Pendennis Shipyard has cancelled the Falmouth to Falmouth Rum Race that was planned to begin from Falmouth Harbour on Monday, May 7, 2012. Reasons for cancelling the race include a lack of participation from superyachts who prefer to leave the Caribbean region earlier this year due to the large number of events taking place in Europe this summer as a result of the Olympics being held in London. Also, the planning and organisation involved in holding an offshore race is considerable and time this year simply does not allow for proper planning.
The Falmouth to Falmouth Race was being organised by Pendennis Shipyard in conjunction with Antigua Yacht Club. This is an event that is likely to be held at some point in the near future so watch this space for more information about an upcoming Falmouth to Falmouth Race.
