AYI E-NEWSLETTER - ISSUE 12 HOT OFF THE PRESS Friday 25th March 2011
Dear Readers:
You’re going to enjoy our latest issue of Antigua’s Yachting Insider. We have plenty of interesting reading in this issue including two very different versions of the same story – the tales of life aboard Spirit of Athena during the recent RORC Caribbean 600 Race as seen through the eyes of both an Englishman and a Scotsman.
Recent events locally have included the very successful inaugural West Indies Sail Regatta designed especially for Carriacou sloops, and the Annual Antigua Laser Regatta which saw the crowning of a new Laser champion for the first time in nine years. Antigua’s Blue Peter was very proud to receive the trophy for Best J-Class Boat at St. Maarten’s Heineken Regatta and we include the story of how the owner and crew have made it to the top in only five short years.
Upcoming sailing events include the St. Barth’s Bucket beginning this week, the St. Thomas Rolex Regatta and the BVI Spring Regatta with Les Voiles des St. Barth just around the corner followed closely by Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta and Antigua Sailing Week. ABSAR’s annual fundraiser will be held on April 3 and we should all do our best to support this very worthy volunteer organization. And the Antigua & Barbuda Yacht Workers Association will be holding a fun run/walk on March 26 to support one of its members in a time of need.
As always, there is plenty going on in Antigua’s yachting community and no lack of interesting stories to keep us informed. So read on and enjoy .
Check out this month's issue here.
Happy reading . . .
