THE MAIDEN NEARING COMPLETION IN OCEAN GLOBE RACE Friday 12th April 2024
As we welcome the first boats in the last leg of the Ocean Globe Race in to Cowes, UK, on Saturday 20th April at 08.00am, we are welcoming Maiden home to Southampton for the final time and celebrating the end of her 6 year world tour raising funds and awareness for girls education and which included her final round the world race, the Ocean Globe Race.
We are hoping to recreate Maiden's spectacular finish of the 1989/90 Whitbread Round The World Race, on 28th May 1990, when Maiden sailed into history as the first all-female crew to ever sail/race around the world. This time round Maiden has been breaking more barriers as she carried the first black female crew around the world and her Camerawoman, who escaped the Taliban, is the first Afghan crew member.
We need your help! If you have a yacht or a RIB, we would love it if you could meet at 8am off Cowes, IOW and sail with Maiden up the Solent and Southampton Water to The South of England and Green Tech Boat Show, Ocean Village where her journey ends.
If you don't have a boat but would like to secure a place as a passenger on the passenger boat Ocean Scene with family and friends by visiting the link below
