It’s now less than two days to go before 23 Oyster Yachts leave Nelson’s Dockyard in English Harbour to set sail on a world rally which will take them more than 16 months to complete with. Planned return date back into Antigua of April 2023.
A fully supported circumnavigation around the world which visits some of the most remote and beautiful destinations will entail sailing 27,000 nautical miles with 25 stopovers.
The Oyster World Rally support team works with Oyster Yacht owners from the moment they sign up, for the rally, offering help and advice on everything, from choosing the perfect Oyster yacht to full training and preparation before setting sail. The team travels ahead of the fleet and offers an extraordinary depth of technical expertise and local knowledge at each stopover
The boats have been congregating in Antigua since before Christmas and now in the last week crews have congregated for safety briefings, to hear about environmental project, a skippers briefing and final farewell cocktails before crossing the start line at Fort Charlotte in English Harbour on Sunday, 9th. January, 2021.
A live map will allow dot watchers to follow their progress around the world.
We wish them fair winds and following seas and look forward to seeing them back in Antigua in time for the Oyster Regatta in 2022.
