PRESS RELEASE DAY 1 UPDATE JUNKANOO BOWL-BAHAMAS
Sunday 26th June 2011

 Rain delayed the start of play today 25th June, 2011 for the Qualifying rounds

for both the U18 and U14 divisions of the Junkanoo Bowl.
 
Round Robin: Match 1
As play started  in the U14 boys division Cedique Henry who is in a round robin
group of four (4) was defeated by Jorge Nunez of Mexico  0-4, 0-4
 
U14 Girls:
Noah Peters  was also defeated by Zena Reguad of AHO Curacao 2-4, 1-4
 
D'Jeri Raymond defeated Jade Bastian of Bahamas 4-1, 4-1
 
The U14 players are scheduled to play one (1) more match today  results will follow later today.
 
U18 Qualifiers:
Kyle Joseph was successful in defeating Cameron Newry (BAH) in his round 1 qualifiers 6-0, 6-3
 
U18 round 2 qualifiers scheduled for later today.
 
 
As day 1 progressed the U14 players were not as successful in their
round 2 matches.
 
Shannon francis (BAH) def Cedique Henry 4-0, 5-3
River hart (CAN) def D'Jeri Raymond 4-1, 5-3
Gabrielle Donaldson (BAH) def Noah Peters 4-1, 4-0
 
U18
Kyle Joseph loss in his 2nd round qualifiers to Arnav Mohanty 5-7, 4-6
Mohanty was the #6 seed in the qualifiers.
 
The U14 players will play their 3rd round round robin qualifiers today (26/6/2011).
Third round matches will determine players who make it into the main draw
which will start after the opening ceremony on Monday 27th June, 2011
