ANTIGUA'S SHABIER KIRCHNER AT SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL Friday 26th January 2018
Antiguan Shabier Kirchner of Wadadli Film Studios is currently at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival, with the team he worked with in the U.S.A on Skate Kitchen, directed by Crystal Moselle. Shabier has filmed for years on various projects in the U.S. as well as back here in Antigua with Wadadli Film Studios. Congratulations to the film crew on Skate Kitchen and especially to Antigua’s own Shabier Kirchner, Cinematographer for this film, for this incredible achievement!

From Sundance.org: Skate Kitchen / U.S.A. (Director: Crystal Moselle, Screenwriters: Crystal Moselle, Ashlihan Unaldi, Producers: Lizzie Nastro, Izabella Tzenkova, Julia Nottingham, Matthew Perniciaro, Michael Sherman, Rodrigo Teixeira, Cinematographer: Shabier Kirchner) — Camille's life as a lonely suburban teenager changes dramatically when she befriends a group of girl skateboarders. As she journeys deeper into this raw New York City subculture, she begins to understand the true meaning of friendship as well as her inner self. Cast: Rachelle Vinberg, Dede Lovelace, Jaden Smith, Nina Moran, Ajani Russell, Kabrina Adams. World Premiere
From filmmakermagazine.com: “Why It’s Included: Moselle’s The Wolfpack was one of the most distinctive documentaries of 2016 — not just because of its stranger-than-fiction subject matter, but because of Moselle’s sharp eye and storytelling abilities as well. So it’s not too surprising that she’s transitioned into narrative filmmaking with this Sundance NEXT that boasts a cast of young, mostly first time actors (plus — Jaden Smith).”
Check this out – Jaden Smith says being part of ‘Skate Kitchen’ was “meant to be”.
