Wednesday 8th January 2025

Antigua and Barbuda, Wednesday January 8, 2025– The Antigua & Barbuda Hotels and Tourism Association (ABHTA) proudly announces Deborah Stamers as the newest feature in its "Unveiling Hospitality Professionals" series, honouring her exceptional 43-year career in aviation and her remarkable contributions to the tourism industry.

With an inspiring career spanning over four decades, Deborah Stamers is the Supervisor of the Ticket Sales Center in American Airlines’ Sales Services and Operations Division. Leading a dedicated team of three sales agents, she has established herself as a solutions-driven leader, providing exceptional travel services to a diverse clientele.

Deborah’s journey in aviation began as a Travel Advisor before she joined American Airlines on September 1, 1981. She was one of seven trailblazing team members who launched operations for the airline in Antigua and Barbuda, with the inaugural flight landing on October 25, 1981. Over her illustrious 43-year career, Deborah has excelled in various airport operations roles, leaving an indelible mark on the industry.

Her extensive expertise includes managing the Reservations and Ticket Sales Offices, where she oversaw teams that supported neighboring islands such as Montserrat, St. Kitts & Nevis, and Dominica. Known for her meticulous attention to detail, Deborah is renowned for facilitating VIP movements, managing group travel, and handling complex ticketing transactions. Her unmatched dedication has earned her the affectionate nickname “The Magician” among loyal customers who continue to request her by name.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Deborah embodies kindness and compassion. Guided by her mantra, “In a world where you can be anything, choose to be kind,” she delivers empathetic customer service that leaves a lasting impact. This same ethos drives her philanthropic efforts, including her 15-year commitment to supporting a local Girls Home charity.

Deborah’s contributions to Antigua and Barbuda’s tourism sector underscore the vital role of aviation professionals in fostering connections and enhancing the visitor experience. Her feature in the "Unveiling Hospitality Professionals" series celebrates her dedication, expertise, and the inspiration she provides to future leaders in the industry.
