Yes Tamarind Hills really does look like the original renderings, a really impressive achievement from Rufus and Alex Gobat and their team, given that like many developers in Antigua they have had to weather the years of recession that have left many by the way side.

There is no doubt they have been as resilient as the beautiful rockface upon which the stunning Tamarind Hills is built. The official launch of Ocean One was executed in exactly the style you would expect from them, stylish and succinct. There has been no big build up, no big promises, they have simply delivered.

The luxury villas deliver for discerning guests who want total privacy, contemporary style, first world service, but equally want to feel at one with the environment in which they are living or vacationing. Glass railings and huge floor to ceiling glass walls ensure wherever you are you have uninterupted panoramic views of the ocean and the two nearby favourite beaches on Antigua, Darkwood and Fryes.

As part of the launch they also broke the ground for the next phase of which will eventually be a 200 room resort with restaurants, bars, spas, gym, conference facilities and tennis courts.

The attendees included government officials, in particular His Excellency the Deputy Governor General of Antigua and Barbuda Sir Clare Roberts, and Lady Roberts; the Honourable Asot Michael, Minister of Tourism, Economic Development Investment and Energy; the Honourable Dean Jonas, Deputy Speaker in the House of Representatives and the Honourable Samantha Marshall, Minister of Social Transformation & Human Resource Development as well as other invited guess.

As the sun set, the swimming pool lights transformed the outdoor area into a fabulous chill out or party zone - the only disappointment was we had to leave!

A huge congratulations to Rufus and Alex and the team at Tamarind Hills for their achievements to date. We look forward to the next phase as much as I am sure, they do too!
