GREENBAY MORAVIAN CHURCH SUNDAY SCHOOL DONATES FUNDS TO CHILDREN’S CHARITY IN HAITI Monday 26th April 2010
The Greenbay Moravian Church Sunday School will be donating the sum of EC Twenty-five hundred dollars (EC$2500) to the chairman of the Moravian Church Provincial Elders Conference (PEC) the Rev. Dr. Cortroy Jarvis on Tuesday 27th April, 2010 at 5:30pm at the Greenbay Moravian Church grounds.
The Sunday school held a Valentine concert on 13th February, 2010 to raise funds to offset cost for outreach programmes. Due to the fact that the earthquake that devastated Haiti around the same time it was decided by the steering committee which comprises of Mr. Roland Walker, Mrs. Jocelyn Green and Mrs. Francine Albertine that part of the proceeds should be donated to children of Haiti.
The Sunday school also has been helping with the Children’s Charity in Haiti by asking its members to bring a pack of Shirley biscuit which has been forward to Haiti. According to the chairman of the Valentine’s Concert Committee Mr. Roland Walker he states, “The children of the Sunday School are very happy to bring their Shirley’s to help the children of Haiti.” He continued to state that, “after seeing the concert via ABS television persons have been coming forward and making donations to make this fund raiser a greater success”. The steering committee would like to thank its many concert sponsors for their generosity during this economic down turn that the country is facing.
