PINK PARTY FUND RAISER Friday 12th October 2012
Antigua will be turning Pink on Saturday, October 20 as Myst Carnival HUG in conjunction with Friends of "Why Me?" presents the first Party in Pink at the Reef Garden, English Harbour, a charity event to raise money for Breast Cancer awareness, Why Me? And the work they do at the organic farm and Why Me? It’s founder, Carolyn Aziz, who is presently undergoing treatment for a very rare form of breast cancer.
“We got together and formed Friends of Why Me? As Caroline usually hosts a fund raising event every October and due to her current illness we decided to come together to raise funds that will support the amazing work Caroline and her small team have been doing at the farm,” explains Anna-Maria Joseph of The Friends of Why Me?
The organisers have solicited the assistance of many local artists including the Spirited Band, Tian Winter, Tizzy, Ricardo Dru and Djs Prebble and Sporty.
The evening will begin with Sunset Cocktails from 5pm with the Ebonites Steel Orchestra.
There will also be prizes and surprises as well as an auction for fabulous items supplied by: LIME; The Verandah Resort and Spa; Colombian Emeralds; Marlin Swim Club; Opus Restaurant; St James's Club; Robinson's Service Station; SunRa Restaurant; Blue Waters Hotel; Linda Swans Oriental dancing; The Body Shop; In The Back Yard Restaurant & Bar; Tricia K Massages; Turners beach Bar & Restaurant; Perfect Pets grooming; Chippy Antigua; Island Jewellers; Dr. Sutton; Sandals Antigua; Sally Harker; Big Deal; Piglets; Dassa Spencer; Hermitage Bay; Dina Debrozzi; Bay House Restaurant; Tropical Adventures; Carib World Travel; Master Ahssan ; Indigo Event Services and Vanity Beauty Salon.
There will also be multiple bars and food stalls and 100% of the proceeds raised will go to Why Me?
Joseph adds that: “We have tried to keep the ticket prices as economical as possible so, persons buying their tickets in advance will only pay EC$30 and these tickets are available from 7th Heaven, Evolution, Antigua Village, Mad Mongoose and Pink Mongoose. We want everyone to wear pink as this is the colour for Breast Cancer Awareness.”
