SICKLE CELL ASSOCIATION RECEIVES DONATION Tuesday 22nd January 2013
The American University of Antigua presented a $6,000 Grant Award to the Antigua and Barbuda Sickle Cell Association for free testing for high risk individuals, those with family members known to have sickle cell disease (SCD) or sickle cell trait.

Pictured above are (left to right), Dr. Regina Clark, a member of the Association; Nurse Bernice Pigott, president of ABSCA; Dr. Shari Jackson, AUA Community Outreach Committee; and Dr. Angela Adams, AUA Community Outreach Coordinator. The grant will be used in the coming year to help build a database of persons with SCD in Antigua and Barbuda. Individuals who would like to volunteer to be a part of the database are asked to contact the Association.
The Sickle Cell Centre's Information Office is located at Holberton Hospital. Leaflets on Sickle Cell are available free upon request.
