EMPOWERING YOUNG GIRLS Friday 15th March 2024
A.S. Bryden and Sons Antigua Ltd, in collaboration with their esteemed partners Kimberly-Clark and Makro, took a significant step towards empowering young girls by conducting a comprehensive presentation on menstrual health and premenstrual syndrome (PMS). The event, held at the T.N. Kirnon Primary School, aimed to educate 40 girls from grades 5 and 6 on vital aspects of menstrual health while providing essential sanitary items to ensure their well-being.
Menstrual health education is crucial, yet often overlooked, particularly in communities where access to resources and information may be limited. Recognizing this gap, A.S. Bryden and Sons Antigua Ltd, a leading distributor in Antigua, joined forces with Kimberly-Clark, a global leader in personal care products, and Makro, a key supplier, to address this important issue.
The presentation covered various topics including menstrual hygiene practices, understanding the menstrual cycle, and managing premenstrual syndrome (PMS). Knowledgeable representatives engaged with the students, fostering an open and supportive environment for discussion and learning.
As part of their commitment to supporting the community, A.S. Bryden and Sons Antigua Ltd, along with their partners, generously donated sanitary items to both the participants and the school. This contribution not only ensures that the girls have access to essential hygiene products but also helps alleviate any potential financial burdens associated with menstruation.
The event concluded with the students enjoying refreshments, fostering a sense of camaraderie and community amongst the participants and organizers alike.
A.S. Bryden and Sons Antigua Ltd remains committed to their mission of making a positive impact on the communities they serve. Through partnerships and initiatives like this, they continue to demonstrate their dedication to social responsibility and empowerment.
