DINING & NIGHTLIFE

Are you ready for the summer session at Abracadabra? The Restaurant and Disco Bar is having their soft opening this Thursday 25th, opening the bar and restaurant at 6:00 pm and serving dinner from 7:00 pm – 11:00 pm. The dance floor reopens this weekend on Saturday 27th and Abracadabra will be providing weekly party nights as well as sumptuous Italian dinners until the end of August. Check them out this weekend for a great dance session or a tasting evening meal.  

The Crow's Nest offers fabulous promotions every day, with Ladies Night on Thursdays with House DJ, offering Finlandia vodka cocktail specials just for the ladies, with an Asian menu available. Fridays are Fish and Chips night with DJ Stiffler from 8:30 pm, and on DJ Stiffler is back in the house on Saturday with more vodka cocktail. Sunday,  it’s Soul Food with FREE Angostura & LLB tastings and on Monday, it's movie madness, with an early screening for the family and a general movie later, with 241 Fish & Turf and a bottle of house wine for EC$125. On Tuesdays, it's Seafood Fiesta and Wednesday is Tapas Night, with Karaoke for entertainment and free shots up for grabs.

This Sunday is set for the opening of the Antigua & Barbuda Museum of Photography and Fine Arts at the Perry Bay Multi-Purpose Cultural and Exhibition Centre at 8:00 pm. The exhibit will feature over 200 photos of historic Antigua, paintings by Mark Browne and Prisilla Looby and wood carvings by Carl Henry. Entertainment for the evening includes fashion and fantasy hair and music presentations by Golden Sticks, Mighty Terror, Calypso Joe and Zacari  

If you are interested in taking part in the Bartending Competition taking place at Al Porto on Thursday August 1st, be sure to register quickly. First place prize is a weekend for two at Sugar Ridge, dinner for two at Al Porto as second place and a bottle of Moet Champagne to the third place winner. During the competition, guests are invited to their all you can eat pasta buffet, with live entertainment by Rico and the 4-Play Band.

The Bay House Restaurant at Trade Winds Hotel has introduced their new dinner menu, available between 6:00 pm and 10:30 pm, featuring an array of delectable dishes of soups, salads, pastas and more, including Barbuda Rock Lobster, Sheppard’s Pie and much more. 

SPORTING SHORTS

The first season of the 2013 Caribbean Premier League (CPL) twenty-20 cricket is just a few weeks away.

You can start supporting Antigua Hawksbills‬ as they face off Pigotts Crushers this Friday, July 26th and Monday, July 29th in practice matches from 7:00 pm each day at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Grounds in preparation for the big inaugural Limacol tournament. Entry is FREE!

COMMUNITY 

This Friday is the Shore Excursion Excellence Workshop being held by the AHTA and Canadian tour guide training company AQUILA, to help participants gain skills in understanding roles of ports, destinations, tour operators and more, examination of cruise lines’ expectations, how shore excursions work and the best ways to provide excellent customer service.

This Saturday is the Farmer’s Market & Local Crafts at The Crow’s Nest and they are welcoming anyone who wishes to sell as well as those interested in browsing the local products on display.
