ANTIGUA & BARBUDA YACHT WORKERS ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES DECEMBER 17, FOR SEAFOOD FEAST Wednesday 30th November 2011
Falmouth: The Antigua and Barbuda Yacht Workers Association (ABYWA) has announced December 17, 2011 as the date for its Seafood Feast in the parking lot at English Harbour, in the vicinity of the Dockyard Police Station.
President of the ABYWA, Stephen Samuel, said preparations for the seafood feast are well underway and a general call is in effect for vendors from the Liberta, Falmouth and English Harbour areas to register.
The feast is scheduled for Saturday, 17 December 2011 and starts at 2 p.m. and run until about 12 midnight.
Although the entertainment schedule is to be determined, there will be live music throughout the afternoon. Samuel noted, on that day sumptuous seafood will form the backdrop of the highly anticipated fun for the entire family in the picturesque environment of Nelson's Dockyard.
“This is the inaugural year for the Seafood Feast but will undoubtedly be the premiere in English Harbour,” Samuel said.
This Seafood Feat is being planned with an objective to enhance culture and community integration among the visitors and the yachting community.
Additionally, funds raised from the proceeds will be further used to assist members of the Association in the case there is an accident while on the job.
“We are not just looking to put on a good event this year, our mission is to become an annual event that showcases the work being undertaken by the members of the Yacht Workers Association and English Harbour as an unparalleled place to live, work, play and, of course, enjoy seafood, ” Samuel stressed.
