FUNDRAISING CONTINUES FOR YOUTH SAILORS Monday 4th July 2016
Fundraising efforts continue for Jules Mitchell and Vincent Anfi to get them to the KBC Laser Radial Youth World Championship in Dun Laoghraire, Ireland from July 23rd to 31st 2016.
Jules Mitchell and Vincent Anfi sailing off into the rain during their Sail-A-Thon Challenge on July 1st.
On Sunday 26th June they hosted a Sail-A-Thon Challenge unfortunately amid terrible weather, with rain, thunderstorms and wind loss affecting the challenge greatly. In the end, the total pledged was EC$1140. The auction scheduled to take place with the Sail-A-Thon was then postponed until Saturday July 2nd and then also raised EC$3159 even without selling 3 of their items.
The original amount needed to send the team to the regatta was just under US$16,000, and they currently still need around US$6000. The funds raised so far have been incredible and they thank everyone for their support. If you wish to donate, make cheques payable to National Sailing Academy and put the sailors name or Antigua Laser Team in the memo of the cheque.
