Words from CEO, Carsten Heron Olsen:
At 07:09 AM UTC (03:09 AM local time) after 80 days 20 hours and 39 minutes the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge 2015 came to an end - and what a race we have had! 26 boats left the shores of La Gomera in December 2015 and 26 boats made it all the way 3000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean to Antigua (with a few team subs in and out!). The teams have been battling storms, sickness, injury and mechanical failures but there been equal heights of amazing wildlife, incredible seas and above all, personal triumphs! As the CEO of Atlantic Campaigns I am incredible proud of our teams and their determination - taking part in the World's Toughest Row takes courage, physical and psychological strengths and the rowers we said good bye to in La Gomera have undertaken a life changing experience - incredible to be witness to and part of. I would like to say a special thank you to the incredible Atlantic Campaigns staff who works 24/7 while the teams are on the Atlantic Ocean and are the reason for this race once again being taken to a new level. Also a big thank you to all involved authorities - the people of Antigua and La Gomera - Finish Line support, ABSAR - to our PR agency, Story PR - Blog writers from LOVE. - Media distributor, Precious Media - Production company, Atomized - Short form video producer, Christian Kirkeby - Photographer, Ben Duffy - Local footage and image support, Ted Martin & Charlotte Drew, Support yacht crews of SKYE and Miss Tick - Race Doctors - Boat builders, equipment suppliers and ocean rowing influencers - Airline partner Virgin Atlantic, Clothing partner Gill Marine - Dot watchers around the world and family and friends of the participants - To our title sponsor, Talisker Whisky for believing in our race and for signing for three more years! Last but not least and the biggest thank you to our incredible participants, previous and future - YOU ARE THE RACE! 279 days to the next one - cant wait! #twac2015 #twac2016
