Antigua’s Jules Mitchell recently participated in the ISAF Youth Worlds Emerging Nations Training Program hosted by Antigua's National Sailing Academy from July 14 through 21, 2015. Both sailors and their coaches participated in the training sessions and in the sailing section of the program, Jules Mitchell finished in 4th place in a fleet of 20 sailors.  That finish was good enough to qualify Jules to participate in the 2015 ISAF Youth World Sailing Championship to be held in Langkawi, Malaysia from December 27, 2015 to January 3, 2016. Congratulations to Jules for his fantastic achievement!

Fundraising for Jules’ participation in various sailing championships has been ongoing but additional funds are now required to ensure Jules will be able to take advantage of this tremendous opportunity.  Several individuals have made generous donations to date including a recent US $1,000 donation from an individual.  Jules has also been generously sponsored by Antigua Yacht Club, all of which have assisted him in getting closer to his fundraising goals. Jules expresses his sincere thanks to everyone who has helped to date either by contributing or sharing and getting the word out.  He appreciates any and all support.

Jules is currently training hard for the 2015 Cork International - Sail Canada Youth Championships which will be held from the 9th to 13th of August, followed by the Laser Worlds to be held in Kingston, Ontario from August 15 to 20 at which he will participate in the Laser Radial class. With the assistance of many, Jules will be able to participate in the regattas in Canada which will be a major stepping-stone to the Youth Worlds in Malaysia at the end of the year.

We know that Jules will make Antigua and all of his friends and supporters very proud.  Please continue to share Jules’ story.
