ANTIGUANICE YACHTING INSIDER NEWSLETTER

Two Antiguan youths participated in the International Optimist Regatta held in St. Thomas last weekend.  Rocco Falcone and River Andrews were thrilled to represent Antigua in this annual event.

There were a total of 64 competitors participating, with 12 teams participating in the team racing aspect.  Rocco Falcone and his team finished in 2nd place in the team racing.  In individual racing Rocco finished in 5th place in the Red Fleet and was 8th overall out of 64 competitors.  He finished in 1st place in the final race of the event.

River Andrews and his team finished in 5th place in the team racing.  River finished in 8th place in the Red Fleet and was 20th overall out of 64 competitors.  In his best race he finished in 12th place.  This was River’s first big regatta and he did exceptionally well having no previous experience in this type of event.

The competition as always was of a very high standard.  It was a great week for all the young sailors and Antigua’s two youth sailors are deservedly very proud of their achievements.  Congratulations!
