FIRST CCR 2014 BOAT ARRIVED IN ANTGUA Tuesday 30th December 2014
The happy crew of Doppelbock, the first boat to arrive in the early hours of New Year's Eve 2014.
The first boat, Doppelbock, a German flagged Dufour 45 skippered by Freddie Boehnert with a crew of six on board, arriving into Nelson's Dockyard, English Harbour, at 3am today, having been on the water for 16 days and 19 hours. The next boat should be Raven, a Beneteau 45. She is a British flagged yacht skippered by routing and weather specialist Mike Broughton.
Doppelbock expected to finish in Nelson's Dockyard late on December 30.
All boats are expected to have arrived by the 4th of January. The prize giving will be at Club Sushi on January 6th. As well as the prize giving, the crews will visit Shirley Heights using transport laid on by the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, sample the roasting tour at the Carib Bean Coffee Co. and enjoy a beach party laid on by the Sailing Rallies team and English Harbour Rum.
Several of the boats are now planning to sail back with Sailing Rallies' new event, the Antigua to Falmouth rally/race which is being organised in conjunction with Antigua Yacht Club. There are three confirmed entries so far but many more boats are expected to join the event.
