Story compliments of Robert Hall

The first ever Night Fishing contest was held on Saturday, August 30th, organised by the Antigua & Barbuda Light Tackle Fishing Club and hosted by the Antigua Yacht Club Marina and Resort.

There were a total of 67 anglers of which most were kids. Although there were many fish caught, only a few met the regulated size of 12inches which was set by the Club.

Ahssan Merai won largest fish, which was a 37inch Tarpon caught with live bait and was also released.

Lorenzo Brkic won largest fish caught by a youth 13 years and under which was a 1 lb 4 oz Mangrove Snapper.

Lorenzo also won most fish caught with two snappers.

As the contest ended Ahssan Merai did not quit, and soon after landed a 4 lb Mutton Snapper.

On behalf of the club, thanks were extended to Tommy Paterson and the Antigua Yacht Club Marina and Resort for accommodating them and for their assistance.
