ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA HAMPTONS CHALLENGE SLATED FOR AUGUST 18, 2012 Tuesday 26th June 2012
On Saturday, August 18 beginning at 11 am, a very special event will take place at the Breakwater Yacht Club of Sag Harbour, New York. Known as the Antigua and Barbuda Hamptons Challenge, the event is sponsored by the Antigua and Barbuda Ministry of Tourism and will support two local charities – The Breakwater Yacht Club Junior Sailing Program and i-tri, transformation through triathlon, a community-based program that teaches at-risk adolescent teenagers self-respect and personal empowerment.
This is a one-day sailing regatta that is expected to attract as many as 60 yachts from yacht clubs in the Hamptons and surrounding areas of New York. The grand prize will be awarded to the overall winner on corrected time and consists of a trip to Antigua Sailing Week 2013. The trip will be for the skipper and six of his crew members and will include flights, accommodation, entry fees and a yacht to sail in Antigua Sailing Week.
