ANTIGUA'S YACHTING INSIDER - ISSUE 2 HOT OFF THE PRESS Wednesday 15th September 2010
Dear Readers:
Welcome to our second issue of Antigua’s Yachting Insider. The launch of this E-newsletter last month was very well received both within and outside of Antigua’s yachting community and so it is with great enthusiasm that we move forward with this exciting project!
There has been plenty of activity in Antigua’s yachting industry in the past month. Hurricane Earl visited at the end of August but fortunately he was kind to Antigua which proved once again to be one of the safest ports in the Eastern Caribbean during a storm. We have been successful at dodging subsequent hurricanes and it looks like our luck will continue with the path of Igor taking a turn to the north but, just in case, don’t miss our article about More Safe Ports in a Storm.
The organisers of the Antigua Charter Yacht Meeting report the best early registration ever, an indication that Antigua’s winter yachting season is shaping up to be a success once again, notwithstanding continued tough economic times. Antigua Sailing Week’s Regatta Organising Committee is forging ahead with the development of plans for a regatta that will be better than ever in 2011! A new website was launched last week, the Notice of Race has been issued and the online entry system is now accepting entries for the upcoming regatta. Please read on for more detail about some of the changes in store for Antigua Sailing Week 2011.
Antigua’s yachting industry continues to be vibrant and exciting as you will find from the many interesting stories reported in this newsletter, so please read on and enjoy! And don’t forget to send us your news, ideas and suggestions for upcoming issues of Antigua’s Yachting Insider.

Happy reading . . .
