SECOND ROUND OF US$5000 GRASSROOTS GRANT APPLICATION OPENS
Wednesday 22nd June 2011

The WICB Digicel Grassroots Grant application period has been opened once again.

Cricket clubs across the region can now apply to the West Indies Cricket Board for grants of up to US$5000 for assistance in three areas:
1.   Infrastructure development
2.   Strengthen training programmes
3.   Procurement of gear and equipment
After the first round of applications ten clubs from across the region benefitted from the grant programme.

“The Grassroots grants have proven to be a major success with clubs now being able to realise plans and programmes they have had in place for several years,” said Fawwaz Baksh, WICB Project Officer for Grassroots Cricket.

“The WICB is most excited that we are able to now provide tangible assistance to cricket at the most crucial grassroots level,” Baksh added.

The deadline for the second round of applications is July 8, 2011.

Notably the entire application process has been significantly simplified. The process now includes an application form which is available online at http://www.windiescricket.com/grassroots and can be filled out online or downloaded and filled out.
