COMMUNITY TOOLKIT WORKSHOP IN ST. KITTS Tuesday 12th February 2013
Antigua and Barbuda is capitalising on an opportunity that will assist communities in developing effective disaster preparedness programmes.
Two staff members from the National Office of Disaster Services (NODS) will attend a workshop organised by the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) which aims to develop a cadre of trainers who would deliver community preparedness programmes across the region.
The workshop to be held from February 11 – 13 in St Kitts will be attended by Myron Ward and Naomi Williams-Carvalho.
CDEMA is undertaking the development of a Model Community Preparedness Programme Toolkit for its participating states which will contain the tools needed to assist communities.
The meeting will also orient participants to the updated CDEMA Community Preparedness Programmes Facilitators Manual and Participant Handbook, evaluate them and make recommendations for any changes. Click here for all News and Specials for National Office of Disaster Services
