CARICOM/CDEMA LEGACY PROJECT TO SUPPORT REHABILITATION IN BARBUDA
Friday 6th April 2018

6th April 2018 - Two regional entities have joined together to offer support to Barbudans recovering from the effects of Hurricane Irma.

The Caribbean Disaster Emergency Response Agency (CDEMA) and Caricom have established the Caricom/CDEMA Legacy Project that will provide 50 thousand US dollars to Barbudans living here and on the sister isle.

Vouchers will be distributed to 250 families especially individuals with special needs and those in difficult situation. It provides the recipients with some amount of flexibility to purchase needed items.

The vouchers are expected to be valid for six weeks.

Director of the National Office of Disaster Services (NODS) Philmore Mullin is urging individuals to be responsible with their purchases and work within the scope of the arrangements.

Final arrangements are now being made for the distribution of the vouchers.
