NODS & ABEC FACILITATE BARBUDANS TO VOTE IN ANTIGUA Monday 19th March 2018
The National Office of Disaster Services (NODS) in collaboration with the Antigua and Barbuda Electoral Commission (ABEC) will only be providing accommodation, meals and transportation to Barbudan electors who have registered with the Barbuda Council Office for government’s assistance.
NODS and ABEC have put plans in place to ensure that all registered voters on the sister-isle get to Antigua to vote and that no one is disenfranchised.
This includes providing meals and accommodation at several properties and transporting them to and from the voting station.
Barbudan electors have already begun making their way over to the mainland via the Barbuda Ferry. Persons who cannot travel via the ferry will be transported by air.
For individuals who have to travel with children or other persons under their care, this information should be provided to the Council Office representatives on Barbuda when registering in order for them to be accommodated.
Barbudan electors who will be staying with friends and relatives should also provide that information.
