FAMILY PACKETS DISTRIBUTED TO BARBUDANS
Wednesday 18th October 2017

Two Thousand, One Hundred and Twelve family packets, containing food and toiletries among other items have been distributed so far to Barbudans who have been affected by Hurricane Irma.

The figure has been confirmed by Warehouse Manager at the National Office of Disaster Services (NODS) Dion Browne, who says that since the Barbudans were relocated to Antigua, there has been a steady stream of traffic daily at the NODS headquarters on American Road.

The items which form part of the aid packets are donated by the government, regional and international donors and local individuals and businesses.

Browne says each package is customized to suit the needs of the individuals and their families.

To receive aid packages, persons would need to register at the NODS office. Pertinent information regarding the number of persons in their family and the age groups will be requested. The information will then be passed on to the warehouse and the bags packed accordingly.
