The Top Ranking National Road Cycling Championships has grown to be the association most exciting and largest spectator event. It has also grown to be the most interested event amongst the cyclists as they all have extremely high interest for earning the sport most prestigious title.

Only a few riders have earned this title since it started some 11 years ago, Robert Marsh, Randy Bobby Simon, Lyn Murray, Cosmos Richardson and reigning National Champion, Jyme Bridges. This year’s event is the most unpredictable as so many of the riders have improved at the top of the sport. Jyme Bridges is still at the top of the polls to win, but the title will is surely up for grabs to the likes of 2012 National Time Trial Champion and National Sportsman, Robert Marsh, the people’s favourite, Marvin Spencer, Omari King, Andre Simon who is recently coming off of a stage win in Grenada, Dale Richardson, Ken Jackson and Neil Lloyd. A surprize victory can also come some new and upcoming 2012 stars to the likes of Clint Henry, Walton Francis and Alvin Merrick. Overseas based former 2 time National Champion is also expected to home to take a shot at the title. The race will also display the performance of Godfrey Pollydore who is presently backed at the top of his game.

Tamiko Butler will go for her 3rd straight title as this event requires contesting the Female Class. The National Sportswoman who usually contests against the males in the B-Class will have the chance to stamp her authority amongst her pairs as she will come up against Kevinia Francis, Lindsay Duffy and Wendy Tittle. An upset is not likely, but in racing anything can happen.

Teshhed Gordon is the favourite in the Junior Class, he will come up against Tristan Matthew, Jaleel Cannonier and others while the Cadet Class will feature Joel Phillip and Nigel Fabian. The riders will vie for the title and championship trophy, the ABI Insurance National Champion Trophy.
