CURTAIN BLUFF AND JUMBY BAY MAKE THE GOLD LIST Thursday 22nd December 2011
(New York, NY, Dec 23, 2011) Destination promotions in the United States get a significant boost as two local resorts, Curtain Bluff and Jumby Bay, are ranked among the Caribbean’s “top notch” hotels. These premier properties were listed on the 2012 Gold List, a prestigious rating of the world’s best hotels, resorts and cruise lines, by Conde Nast Traveler, a leading global travel Magazine.
The Conde Nast Traveler compendium of the best hotels and resorts draws on the ever-evolving, annual Readers’ Choice survey. This year’s 18th tally of the world's top travel experiences was drawn from almost 29,000 readers who had their say about the 511 best hotels, resorts and cruise lines on the planet. Contenders are tested afresh each year, and survey results compile the responses of some eight million votes cast by a savvy group of travelers. There were 93 new properties on this year’s Gold List.
Curtain Bluff was ranked as a Platinum winner, among the top 12, of the 23 best Caribbean resorts on the Gold List. St. Lucia leads the region with 5 resorts on the Gold List. Along with Antigua, other islands with resorts on the list are The Bahamas, Bermuda, Dominican Republic, Grand Cayman, Jamaica, Nevis, Peter Island, St. Barts, Turks & Caicos and Virgin Gorda.
“US Director or Tourism, Derede Samuel-Whitlock said, “The Gold List brings global recognition to the very best resorts and I consider this to be quite an accomplishment for the destination. We are extremely proud of this important achievement by both Curtain Buff and Jumby Bay and these accolades will help strengthen Antigua and Barbuda’s image in the US market.
