WALKING THROUGH THE RAIN FOREST
GET TO WALLINGS
TRAIL FROM THE PARKING SPOT TO WALLINGS
TRAIL TO SIGNAL HILL
TRAIL TO LEMON GRASS VIEW
TRAIL TO RENDEZVOUS BEACH
If you turn off the Fig Tree Drive throught the Rainforest at the sign for Wallings Dam, further down the track an oasis awaits you. The dam itself and the lake are surrounded by a picnic area which is a perfect stopping spot at the beginning or end of a trail.
There are a number of hikes which run from the track into the forest, up to Signal Hill with beautiful views across the island, down to Rendezvous Bay and on to Falmouth, or just through the dense forest and walkways to lovely look out spots.
Following rain the pathways can be very slippy, so tread carefully. There are lots of tree roots on some of the pathways as well as uneven pathways, so a sturdy pair of walking shoes or atleast training shoes are essential.
Depending on how far you choose to walk, although under forest initially many of the trails become open, so if you are walking between 10am and 4pm be sure to wear a hat and sun block, and take plenty of water with you.
