MAYAGUEZ 2010 - CAC GAMES Wednesday 21st July 2010
The cyclists will be the first of the Antiguan contingent to compete at the Mayaguez 2010, Central American and Caribbean Games. OCES Cycling Champion, Jyme Bridges and National Champion, Cosmos Richardson will compete in the Road – 25 miles Individual Time Trial in the city of Aguadilla.
18 countries are registered to participate in today’s event, which includes Central American cycling power house nations of Columbia, Venezuela and Mexico. Each nation is allowed 2 riders in the individual event. Jyme Bridges is label as the best of the Antiguans but are facing some travel dilemma; up to 10am today Bridges cannot locate his bike of which confirmed by the airline that the bike arrived in Puerto Rico. The bike cannot be located somewhere between the airport and the Games Village. However, Jyme Bridges is schedule to leave the start gate at 1:30pm as the 1st person to hit the road for the start of the cycling events at Mayaguez 2010 Games. Cosmos Richardson is listed to start 14th as each riders will start 1 minute apart.
The Antigua and Barbuda 2010 CAC Games team is headed by Mr. Leslie Williams as the Chef de Mission and Mr. Phillip Isaac as Assistant Chef de Mission. The team will be represented in 5 sporting disciplines which include Cycling, Athletics, Boxing, Sailing and Triathlon. The sporting disciplines and members as follows:
